The CVSI Portable Video Capture (V-CAP) Kit is designed to enable the law enforcement investigator to quickly and easily collect security video from in-place surveillance systems without the need to seize the recording equipment or copy/play proprietary files.

The V-CAP Kit is fully equipped to capture, enhance, translate (convert), export (burn) and wirelessly transmit CCTV surveillance system video and still images. CVSI has designed and implemented the V-CAP Kit with leading components from Canopus / Grass Valley, Adobe, Dell and Pelican.

V-CAP Capabilities / Features

Capture – The V-CAP system utilizes the Canopus ADCV300 digital video converter to capture analog or digital video in real-time. Analog video is captured uncompressed for superior quality. Industry standard video files are created during the capture process.

Enhancement – Noise, tape jitter and other impairments can be removed during the capture process. Brightness, contrast, hue and saturation can also be adjusted.

Translation – Virtually any standard video file format can be created from the original digital video capture file. Multiple formats of the same content can be created for archival copies, working copies and files optimized for wireless transmission. The high performance Dell Precision M4300 workstation has the capability to process video files faster than real-time.

Export – Multiple export options are available through Adobe Premier Pro. The Dell Precision M4300 workstation is equipped with an 8X DVD burner.

Transmit – Multiple transmission options exist to move large video files including integrated Gigabit Ethernet and multiple wireless options. The Dell Precision M4300 workstation is equipped with both a 802.11a/b dual band WiFi wireless LAN adapter and an integrated wireless broadband card. The wireless broadband card can specifically be used to transit short video clips and still frames captured from the video while still in the field.

Kit Design – All key components of the V-CAP kit are secured within a rugged Pelican case for safe transportation and quick and easy operation at the scene of the investigation. The CVSI V-CAP Kit costs just a fraction of the significant investment in capital and training needed for leading Video Forensic Stations, yet it handles most day-to-day needs of the investigator.
